Beautiful & compact

Xiaomi has a clear idea of what a flip smartphone should look like. Perfectly finished, with visual accents and, above all, light and compact. Measuring just 167.5 x 74.02 x 7.6 mm when open and a pleasant 16 mm thick, the smartphone fits easily into any pocket and is barely noticeable thanks to its weight of 192 g. The hinge is not only particularly robust, but also closes perfectly. The large front display, which is slightly rounded at the edges and interrupted by the two Leica cameras, naturally stands out visually. The back is elegant and only shows the Xiaomi lettering.

Use the outer display

Like the Motorla RAZR, the Xiaomi Mix Flip impresses with a large and fully usable front display. This measures 4.01 inches, offers a resolution of 1392 x 1208 pixels, supports 120 Hz and is extremely bright with up to 3000 nits. When opened, a large 6.86-inch LTPO internal display with 120 Hz support is revealed. A brightness of up to 3000 nits is also offered here. The resolution is a crisp 2912 x 1224 pixels. Both displays support HDR10+, HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision.

The manufacturer from the Far East has equipped its Flip device with nothing less than the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Leica Dual Camera

Xiaomi has set itself the goal of making the Mix Flip a real high-end smartphone. This is particularly evident in the camera, where the manufacturer has opted for a dual 50 megapixel setup with Leica branding. The main camera is a Sony LYT800 sensor, which promises outstanding results even in low light conditions thanks to the f/1.7 aperture and is supported by an OIS. This may be the case with most Flip devices, but not with the Xiaomi Mix Flip. Here, the development department has managed to pack a battery with a capacity of a whopping 4780 mAh. An astonishing performance and currently the largest in a flip smartphone. Even though wireless charging has been omitted, the charging technology is still impressive. The internal power source can be charged with up to 67 W via USB C cable and therefore in a short time.

WiFi 7, Dual 5G and more

Given the luxury hardware, it is hardly surprising that Xiaomi has also equipped the Mix Flip with all the latest standards. An Internet connection can be established either via dual 5G support or WiFi 7. Wireless headphones and smartwatches can be connected via Bluetooth 5.4. NFC for contactless payment is also available. High-quality stereo speakers and a fingerprint sensor are of course also included. Xiaomi relies on HyperOS as the operating system.
